When the stand on one of my three desktop monitors broke last month, I decided to switch to a multi-monitor stand. I got an Ergotech Triple Horizontal LCD Monitor Arm Desk Stand (100-D16-B03). I can't say enough good things about the design -- it allows every possible adjustment or configuration, it's easy to put together, and it's very solid. (Also, word to the wise: This monitor stand was $432.00 on Amazon, but only $199.95 at PC Connection, which is an Ergotech participating retailer.)
Using the stand has helped free up a lot more space on my desk, including space behind the monitors. Definitely worth the investment.

I see you also went for a mesh chair in the mean time. How do you find them? My office chair is now looking a bit worse for wear and it's a choice between either having it reupholstered or replacing it with something else.
Your opinion would be appreciated!

Good eye! I switched from a Tempur-Pedic chair to a Herman Miller Aeron a few months ago.
I can't say that I see any particular advantages or disadvantages to the mesh v. traditional. The mesh is slightly cooler (in temperature!), but the traditional is a little more comfortable, especially when wearing shorts.
But, in terms of ergonomics, the Aeron is MUCH better. The arms pivot in and out, so I can rest my arms as I type -- much easier on the neck, shoulders, elbows, and wrists. This is HUGE for me.
I also find the lumbar support, pitch, seat pan, and height better for me than in the Tempur-Pedic. I can sit with my feet flat (or elevated on the foot rest) and my back and arms well-supported. Getting the right size chair made a huge difference. (Who knew they came in sizes?)
In my case, I went from feeling antsy after about half an hour at the desk to being able to sit for hours comfortably.
But, it's such a matter of personal preference, you really ought to see how it works for you.

I made the mistake of buying a cheaper chair, but now that I am working more in my home office I am regretting it, as the foam in the base cushion has died, leaving me with no support.
I find a lot of chairs lacking in depth of base, and hence not supporting my thighs, so I'll have to go and try a few different ones out for size and shape.

Can you please post a pic of the back side of the computer screen? My desk doesn't face a wall- it faces the door. I don't want the stand to stand out instantly when you walk in.

The Ergotech mount is currently listing for $312.00 on pc connection site, was your 199 price a special sale?
No, that was the list price when I bought it last January--just checked my invoice to be sure. Right now, the U.S. PC Connection page is showing it at $312. Makes me wonder if they had it too low last year and Ergotech made them raise it...
